Welcome Padres & Parents:

"Luck favors the prepared"
          Edna Mode -- The Incredibles

It's really all about being prepared in this complicated world today. What we strive to do is to make our students ready for the challenges that await them to compete and succeed in the coming years. This site includes the tools to have a successful academic year in Honors or Advanced Placement (AP) History classes. Both curriculums are geared to prepare and challenge students to take their education to another level. AP students have the opportunity to earn 6 hours of liberal arts college credit if they pass a national comprehensive test at the end of the year. Please click on the APUSH link for more information. And both APUSH and Honors American History students can receive college credit through Rio Salado Community College. The skill sets that both AP and Honors classes provide is the largest gain overall. The ability to study content at the college level, hone test-taking and essay writing skills, has marked results on SAT test scores, college applications and success after graduation. We are very pleased to be able to offer this type of academic rigor. It's wonderful to work with such a great group of students.

Please click on the links (left) to view key information for the coming year. When done - students are required to print out the Syllabus Review & Signature Sheets - link #3 & 4 and return it the 1st week of class, with both their signature and one from a parent/guardian as confirmation that everyone understands the class procedures and requirements. The signature sheet is the only paper students will turn back to the teacher. The most visited site is the Homework link #2 - which gives students the ability to access optional and extra credit assignments - 24/7 - to reinforce both their grade and their mastery of curriculum. We look forward to the best year ever at Marcos de Niza High.
