The Desert Vista Science Department will work collaboratively to organize and coordinate a science curriculum that will both serve and excite our students, by

     1) providing a dynamic and challenging curriculum with focus on improving students'
         literacy, creative thinking, problem-solving and study skills.

     2) offering thought-provoking laboratory exercises for each concept, incorporating
         authentic research experiences, computerapplications and current technologies.

Our goal is for students to leave Desert Vista with an appreciation of the impact of science on everyday life, an abiding curiosity about the world around them, and useful life skills including a framework for problem-solving and the inclination to critically analyze information.
