This course is an introduction to biotechnology and its global impact on society. We will explore applications, laboratory techniques, limitations and the international economic benefits, risks, and legal and moral issues associated with biotechnology. Biotechnology is a South Mountain Community College dual-enrollment course for BIO107; registration will take place in late fall for spring enrollment.

The prerequisite for Biotechnology is successful completion of Biology 1-2 (recommended grade of B or better). We will be using a college-approved textbook as well as supplemental readings and the internet for learning resources.
